Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría will be the new number ones in the World Padel Tour rankings after the Estrella Damm Comunidad de Madrid Master.
Josemaría and Sánchez, who will fight for their fourth consecutive title on Sunday, will now lead both The Race 2022 and the individual rankings once the points come in after the Master.
This means Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay, who have been the number one couple in the rankings since the start of 2021, now drop to second.
With five tournaments to go before the Estrella Damm Master Final, the fight for number one status could go down to the last tournament.
Salazar and Triay will have time to defend their crown as the top seed of the year, but will have to bounce back against the incredibly in-form Josemaría and Sánchez.
