WPT becomes the first global competition to have equal prize money at all its events.

This entails women’s prize money will increase by 270%.

World Padel Tour has taken a big step forward in equality between men and women in sport. With immediate effect, World Padel Tour has decided to level all prize money handed out at every event.

This measure, which has no precedent in worldwide sport, completes Setpoint Events’ mission on which it embarked when taking over both competitions in 2013.

This is the latest and most significant leap forward to close the broach between genders in professional padel. In the recently started 2022 season, this progress had already been marked by way of having more international women’s events than ever before.

Prize money at women’s tournaments will increase 250% at Challenger events, 178% at Open and Master events and 160% at the Master Final, unprecedented increases on a global scale.

With this, World Padel Tour tries to recognise women’s incredible professional level and compensate them duly for their many sacrifices to compete in unequal conditions up until this point.
