The fight at the top end of the rankings has heated up even more after the Estrella Damm Zaragoza Open. With the final tournaments of the year on the horizon, things are starting to shape up in the rankings. There have been movements in both the men's and women's top tens, as everyone looks for a place in the top 16, which grants access to the Master Final in December.
At the top of the rankings, Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima (13,500 points) made the most of their win in Zaragoza to maintain an advantage of 1,150 points with regards to Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutiérrez. There are no changes in the top ten. As for the battle to finish in the top 16, there are 12 players within 365 points of each other from 14th to 22nd. The biggest climber after Zaragoza is Javier Garrido who has risen 15 places from 85th to 69th.
Gemma Triay and Lucía Sainz not only conquered their second title of the season in Zaragoza but they also moved up from 5th to 4th with a total of 6,130 points. The finalists, Patty Llaguno and Elisabet Amatriaín, have also gone up a place from 10th to 9th. Majo and Mapi Sánchez Alayeto stay on top of the rankings on 9720 points. After playing on home soil, Ángela Caro has risen up the rankings the furthest alongside her partner Nuria Rodríguez, going from 33rd to 29th.
