Vienna Padel Open underway with men's pre-qualifying concluding on Monday

The first-ever Vienna Padel Open is officially underway as the men's pre-qualifying concluded on Monday in the Austrian capital.

All matches were played out at the Steffl Arena, the venue for the whole tournament as well as the qualifiers.

Here is what happened in the eight finals throughout the day!

Number one seed in pre-qualifying Nicolás Suescun and Aday Santana made no mistake during their matches in Vienna, beating David Fernández and Carlos Marti in straight sets 6-0 6-4.

Next were Pablo González and Álvaro López, who also took care of business as they beat Pablo Andrés and Pedro Díaz by 6-2 6-4.

One of the more levelled matches was between Javi Bravo and Luis Hernández when they squared off with Henrique Barbosa and Álvaro Meléndez. It would go to three sets, Bravo and Hernández eventually winning 6-2 4-6 6-3.

Another three-setter was played between Daniel Bressel and Pedro Araújo against Pablo Castillo and Cristobál García, the former duo winning 7-5 4-6 6-4.

Also going through to the qualifying rounds were Diego Gil Batista and Cándido Alfaro, who swept Adrián Martínez and Pablo Díaz 6-0 6-0.

Three-seed Belar Vera and Afonso Fazendeiro beat Jaime Menéndez and Brazilian Francisco Gomes in three sets, 4-6 6-4 6-4.

Roger Aromi and Ferran Insa played the penultimate match, winning 6-3 6-2 against Adrián Rodríguez and Joaquin Mazzeo, and finally, Alonso Rodríguez and Borja Yribarren beat Emilio Chamero and Adrián Marqués 3-6 6-3 6-4.
