Tuesday at the Cervezas Victoria Marbella Master 2022 saw many of the men's top seeds coming into action at the Marbella Arena.

The first Master event of the World Padel Tour season, all players, even the top four seeds, have to play from the round of 32 onwards.

With the 16 matches spread across Tuesday and Wednesday, here is what happened in the first half of fixtures.

Bergamini/Ruiz vs Del Castillo/Martínez

Court 3 on Tuesday morning was inaugurated by Víctor Ruiz and Brazilian Lucas Bergamini, who took on Mario del Castillo and Javi Martínez.

A two-hour-long match that went to three sets, Ruiz and Bergamini took the opening frame 6-2 to get a leg up.

The second set went to a tie-break, Del Castillo and Martínez getting it 6-7 to force a decider.

Bergamini and Ruiz managed to dust themselves off, however, and retook initiative with a 6-4 victory to be among the final 16.

Tello/Chingotto (5) vs Alonso/Alba

Centre court matches started with five-seed Juan Tello and Fede Chingotto in their bid against Sergio Alba and recent Mallorca Challenger winner Edu Alonso.

Argentinians Tello and Chingotto ran away with the first set, adapting to the conditions well and taking a 6-2 in the opening set.

Things were a lot more complicated in the second set. While there were several breaks, the frame ended up going to a tie-break. Here, after 12 points, the deciding mini-break would be enough.

This one finished 6-2 7-6(6) after just under two hours.

""Semmler/Ramírez vs Sans/Moya

The longest match of the day took place at court 2, where Miguel Semmler and Iván Ramírez went up against Anton Sans and Jesús Moya.

Sans and Moya started this match in better form, and were rewarded for it as they took the first set 4-6.

Two tie-breaks followed in the second and third set, both of them won by the underdog pairing of Semmler and Ramírez.

After two hours and 43 minutes, Semmler and Ramírez won this one 4-6 7-6(1) 7-6(4).

Nieto/Yanguas vs Jiménez/Piñeiro

Youngsters Coki Nieto and Miguel Yanguas were in action on court 2 against qualifiers José Jiménez and Martín Piñeiro.

In a quick match, Nieto and Yanguas were always in control of both sets, determined to get the game over quickly.

After 6-3 in the first, the Spaniards followed it up with a 6-4 in the second set to take the win after an hour and 13 minutes.

Lima/Stupaczuk (4) vs Gil/Silingo

The highest seed in action on Tuesday were fourth-ranked Pablo Lima and Franco Stupaczuk, who shared centre court with Francisco Gil and Agustín Silingo.

Stupa and Lima were naturally the favourites coming in, but Silingo and Xisco Gil were having none of it.

They took the opening set with a surprising 4-6. As if this had awoken Lima and Stupa, they came back in force.

The second set was over quickly 6-2, and the third even quicker as they sweeped it 6-0, taking the victory after coming back from a set down.

Capra/Sánchez (6) vs Lijó/Cepero

The new six-seed Luciano Capra and Maxi Sánchez were in action on court 2, fresh off their final appearance last time out in Copenhagen.

Facing Pablo Lijó and Álvaro Cepero, Capra and Sánchez took care of the first set 6-4.

The second set was a lot tougher for them, first tied at 5-5 and then going into a tie-break. Eventually, though, the Argentinians pulled it out against the Spaniards.

After an hour and 39 minutes, it finished 6-4 7-6(4) to them, putting them through to the round of 16.

""

Rico/Gutiérrez vs Tison/Zapata

Josete Rico and Agustín Gutiérrez played the final match on court 3, doing so against qualifiers Benjamin Tison and Teo Zapata.

Another three-set match on Tuesday, Rico and Gutiérrez took the first one 6-4 but conceded a 4-6 of their own in the second set.

Finally, the Spanish-Argentinian tandem retooled and ran through the final set 6-1. Frenchman Tison still waits to make his first-ever round of 16.

""

Ruiz/González (7) vs Campagnolo/Garrido

The final match of the day was at centre court and featured seven-seed and local heroes Momo González and Alejandro Ruiz, taking on Lucas Campagnolo and Javi Garrido.

Perhaps the most appealing match on paper, González and Ruiz struggled to find a way past their Brazilian-Spanish rivals.

Ending in a tie-break, the two Malagans won 7-6(2) to win the first set.

The second set was more straightforward for the favourites, who took a break and held on to it, winning 6-3 to go through to the second round.
