Mati Díaz and Ale Galán faced their second final of the season while Ramiro Moyano and Lucho Capra were in their first. Ramiro and Lucho were perhaps affected by the nerves of their first final at the start of the match. Mati Diaz's experience and Alejandro Galan's shot making put them 3-0 up early on, with two of those games being breaks. The bad news for Gustavo Prato's pupils is that things would only get worse. Mati and Ale continued to put their foot on the accelerator and took the first set to love (6-0).Things levelled out in the second set, which was to be expected with two feisty characters such as Moyano and Capra. They readjusted their game and even caused problems for Mati and Ale. But 'The Warrior' Mati Diaz didn't want to let such a great advantage slip away. Accompanied by an unstoppable Alejandro Galan, they broke their opponents at 3-3 and maintained their break until the end. It was their second title of the year after Valladolid. Mati Diaz and Ale Galan are the champions of the Lugo Open 2018.
