Prequalifying for the Valladolid Open got underway at Club Raqueta with 64 pairings fighting to make their way through to the main draw. Prequalifying consists of three rounds and 8 pairings will make it through to qualifying. The main favourites won in the first round: Antonio Luque and Diogo Rocha defeated Juan Carlos Gama and Alejandro Gama 6-2 / 6-0, claiming their thirteenth win of the season. Jorge Nieto and Javier Rico are playing together for the first time in Valladolid and they began with a 6-4 / 6-2 victory over Iván Ramírez and Alejandro Gil. Marc Quílez and Andrés Britos also began with a victory, against Nicolás Suescun and Roger Aromi by 6-2 / 6-4.
