The Sánchez Alayeto twins reach another World Padel Tour final

The morning got underway with the first women's semifinal between Mapi - Majo Sánchez Alayeto and Martita Ortega - Ariana Sánchez.

The twins struck first and, as they usually do, applied a lot of pressure at the net to break in the third game and push on to lead 3-1. Marta and Ari kept plucking away and forced their way back to 3-3. There were a couple of breaks between the two pairings from then on until the set headed into a tiebreak. That's when Mapi took control and earned herself and her sister the first set.

The second set with a reaction from the young duo coached by Rodrigo Ovide. Ortega and Sanchez were much more aggressive and broke very early in the set. They held on doggedly to this advantage and even saved 6 break points before winning 6-4 and forcing a third set.

There was another early break in the third set but this time it went to the atomic twins, who raced away to a 3-0 lead. The number 5 seeds continued to fight hard  and broke back in the fifth game to make it 3-2. But the twins broke again and won 6-3 in an hour and fifty minutes. Mapi and Majo Sanchez Alayeto are in the final of the Valladolid Open 2018.
