The qualifying rounds and last 32 gave way to the crucial round of sixteen, where the seeds came into contention.The last sixteen kicked off with an early win for Aris Patinoitis and Diego Ramos against Germán Tamame and André Britos in an even match that went to three sets and ended 6-4 / 6-7 / 6-3. The following pairing to advance to the quarter finals were Pablo Lijó and Jordi Muñoz Baixas, who turned around a one set deficit to knock out Matías Nicoletti and Gerard Company with a 6-7 / 6-2 / 6-0 scoreline.The afternoon got underway with the qualification of Maty Marina and Gonzalo Rubio against Cristian Germán and Ernesto Moreno by 7-6 /6-2. Soon afterwards Pedro Alonso-Martínez and Javier Ruiz joined them after taking a convincing 6-1 / 6-3 win against Andoni Bardasco and Diogo Rocha.Meanwhile, spectators continued to flock into the Reebok Sports Club La Finca to enjoy the action.
