Only three tournaments have been played on the World Padel Tour this season and things are already heating up at the top end of the rankings. Here are the major changes in the rankings after the Estrella Damm Zaragoza Open 2018. The next tournament is the Caja Rural Jaén Open 2018 from the 20th to the 27th of May.
There have been no changes in the top ten. Despite Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima's absence because of the Argentine's injury, they continue on top on 14,590 points. Their advantage has been cut down however as Daniel "Sanyo" Gutiérrez is on 12,145 points in third place, while his partner Maxi Sánchez has made it to 10,270 points in fourth place. The player who came away happiest from Zaragoza was Juan Martín Díaz, who reached the final alongside Paquito Navarro, and has gone up 24 places from 63rd to 39th. With regards to the places that grant access to the Master Final, Ramiro Moyano, is back in, as he's 16th on 2570 points.
There are no changes in the women's top ten as Majo and Mapi Sánchez Alayeto continue on top on 12,870 points. Their most immediate pursuers, Gemma Triay and Lucía Sainz, are on 9665 points after their second title of the season. The biggest climbers are Virginia Riera, who went up eight places from 78th to 70th and Araceli Martínez who went up seven places from 64th to 57th. Gabriela Bartomioli, who reached her first quarter finals alongside Sara Ruiz Soto, has gone up 6 places to 42nd.
