The small details decided the difference in a very even match. The first set went to Lijó and Lahoz, who needed just one break to win 6-4. In the second set, Company and Escalante went a break up but at 4-3, Lijó and Lahoz reacted by taking three straight games to win 6-4 and reach the last sixteen. Two legends of the tour, such as Fernando Poggi and Gabriel Reca, took on the winners of the Helsinborg Challenger, Matías Marina and Javier Concepción. Poggi and Reca took an early lead with a break in the fifth game. A lead that Reca and Poggi clinged onto to win 6-3 in just an hour and six minutes. Marina and Concepcion reacted by dominating the second set clearly 6-2. They kept up that momentum in the third set, with Marina increasingly precise and Concepcion causing a lot of damage with his shots, as they won the third set 6-3 to reach the last sixteen of the Vallbanc Andorra Open. The second match on court two was Alejandro Ruiz - Sebastián Nerone vs. Raúl Díaz - Toni Bueno. After an even start, Nerone and Ruiz broke in the eighth game to win the first set 6-4. Despite not having been together for long, Fuster and Muñoz put up a fight against Galan and Belluati and almost took the opening set into a tiebreak. Galan and Belluati broke in the twelfth game to win 7-5 in almost 45 minutes. That advantage gave Galan and Belluati wings, and they controlled the second set much more comfortably. After almost breaking twice, they finally broke in the fifth game. They furthered their advantage on serve to lead 4-2. Muñoz and Fuster recovered in the eighth game but Galan and Belluati broke back immediately and reached the last sixteen by winning 6-4 in an hour and 22 minutes. The last match of the morning sesison on court two brought together a pairing in red hot form, Juan Tello and Federico Chingotto, with Borja Yribarren and Juan Manuel Vázquez.
