Sánchez/Gutiérrez vs Silingo/Ruiz

The last sixteen ended with the number one seeds Sanyo Gutiérrez and Maxi Sánchez taking on Agustín Gómez Silingo and Álex Ruiz. The favourites took a 3-0 lead and by the time Silingo and Ruiz wanted to react it was too late as they went down 6-3 in 33 minutes. In the second  set they took control again but Silingo and Ruiz managed to rally their way into the clash by reclaiming a break deficit in the sixth game, and they even had a set point on return in the twelfth game.
