The first round of the Marseille Challenger gets underway

The first seven matches of the main draw (which suffered some changes as a result of the strike which provoked many flights taking players to Marseille being cancelled) took place at Win Win Padel. The first pairing to reach the last sixteen was Germán Tamame and Nacho Gadea, who defeated Diego Ramos and Antonio Luque 6-1 / 7-6. After them, Rubén Rivera and Raúl Marcos won 6-4 / 3-6 / 6-4 against Rafa Mendez and David Garcia Campos. Guga Vázquez and Borja Yribarren also made it to the last sixteen after their victory against Sergio Icardo and Jose David Sanchez by 7-6 / 6-1.

In the final matches of the day, Matías Nicoletti and Cristian Gutiérrez won 6-3 / 7-5 aainst Juan Jose Matea and Javier Lopez. Diego Gil and Fran Ramírez Navas continued to progress from pre qualifying by defeating Pincho Fernandez and Toni Bueno 6-4 / 6-1. Pedro Alonso Martínez and Aris Patiniotis also advanced after beating local pairing Jerome Ferrandez and Pier Gauthier 6-2 / 6-4. The last pairing to qualify was newly formed duo Javi Garrido and Gonzalo Rubio, who got the better of Martin di Nenno and Juan Restivo (6-4 / 6-2).

The five remaining last sixteen slots will be filled out once the action gets underway at 10:00. The eight last sixteen matches will take place in the afternoon.
