The third tournament of the season on the World Padel Tour got underway today with prequalifying. The first step of a very long path which will eventually qualify four pairings for the Estrella Damm Zaragoza Open 2018. Pádel Plaza is where the first 32 matches took place, with the first duos moving onto the next round.
The two Portuguese/Spanish pairings advanced. Antonio "Pincho" Fernández and Miguel Oliveira beat the Portuguese pairing of João Pedro Flores and Vasco Pascoal 6-3 / 6-1, while Antonio Luque and Diogo Rocha won 6-1 / 6-2 against Sebastián Iranzo-Díaz and Borja Lopez Vidal.
Javier Rico Dasi and Jorge Nieto were convincing on their debut against Jesús Ruíz Bohorquez and Pablo José Díaz, who they beat 6-2 / 6-2. Another young pairing dreaming of making the main draw is Jerónimo "Momo" González and Javier González Barahona, who won 6-4 / 6-2 against Juan José Gutiérrez and Mario del Castillo. French pairing Bastien Blanque and Johan Bergeron won their first ever match on tour, 6-2 / 6-2 against Ricardo Martins and Jorge Couceiro.
