The best pairings advance to the women's last sixteen

The last 32 of the women's event took place at the Club de Campo in Alicante. Twelve matches throughout the day which involved the top four seeds:

First session

Carolina Navarro and Cecilia Reiter got a quick win against Andrea Medina and Gabriela Bartomioli. They were through in under an hour with a 6-1 / 6-0 scoreline.

Sandra Hernández and Vero Virseda want to continue growing as a pairing and their aim is always to reach the last sixteen. That's exactly what they did as they won 6-2 / 6-1 against Clara Teresa Siverio and María Pérez.

Teresa Navarro and Victoria Iglesias couldn't have started their match against Lucía Martínez and Tamara Icardo in better fashion as they won the first set 6-0. This was a repeat of the clash that took place at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Master and Lucia and Tamara had to work hard to try and avoid the same outcome as in Badalona. They played their best padel but it wasn't enough and they lost the second set in a tiebreak.

Vanesa Alonso and Isabel Domínguez played the most intense match of the first session againstAlicia Blanco and Beatriz Caldera. The girls from Galicia won in straight sets and came back to win 6-4 / 7-6.

Second session

Aranza Osoro and Nela Brito took to the court to face Eva Gayoso and Nicole Traviesa. Aranza and Nela were calm and efficient to defeat Gayoso and Traviesa. 6-2 / 6-1 was the final score.

Patty Llaguno and Eli Amatriain fought for a place in the last sixteen against Ana Cortiles and Sofia Araujo. A tricky clash for the former number ones who had to work hard to win 6-3 / 6-4.

One of the up and coming pairings on the women's tour, Carla Mesa and Marta Talaván, took on Ángela Caro and Nuría Rodríguez. A tough first round encounter for the potential favourites but Caro and Rodriguez were more reliable as they won 6-3 / 6-4.

Valería Pavón and Paula José María took on the up and coming Sara Pujals and Alix Collombon. The Spanish/French duo reached the last sixteen in Badalona and showed their potential. It was an even match but in the end Paula and Valeria won 6-4 / 2-6 / 6-3.

Third session

Alba Galán and Mari Carmen Villalba started their tournament in brilliant fashion. Silvia López and Marta González found no way of hurting the duo coached by Ramiro Choya. Mari Carmen and Alba won the match 6-1 / 6-2 in an hour.

Maite Gabarrus and Ana Fernández de Ossó  played a beautiful match against Noelia Márquez and Cynthia Pérez. Intensity and ups and downs marked this match which Ana and Maite won 6-4 / 7-6.

Lorena Alonso and Virgina Riera claimed a difficult match against Meli García and Laura Clergue. A toe to toe duel which Lorena and Virgina won 6-3 / 6-2.

Cata Tenorio and Bea González ended the session on centre court at the Club de Campo de Alicante. They took on Ana Catarina Nogueira and Delfi Brea. A beautiful match with the stands packed took place. Delfi and Ana Catarina won the first set 6-3. Bea and Cata were up against the ropes and had to fight back from a break down to win the second set 6-3. In the decisive third set, Bea Gonzalez shone to win 6-3.
