Surprise in Barcelona!

The second spot in the Barcelona Master semifinals would go to either Agustín Tapia and Pablo Lima or Juan Cruz Belluati and Javi Garrido.

The level that Garrido and Belluati have shown throughout this tournament was demonstrated once again in this match, this time against the world's number three pair.

Tapia and Lima were pushed all the way by Garrido and Belluati, until a golden point in the tenth game of set one. It went to the favourites Tapia and Lima 6-4.

In the second set, Garrido and Belluati went on the offensive. They weren't content with holding their serves - they went looking for a break too, and got it. 6-3 to Garrido and Belluati in set two, as the quarterfinal headed for a third.

A place in the semifinals was at stake, as the crowd at the Palau Sant Jordi enjoyed an intense final chapter that did not disappoint. Belluati and Garrido grew, as Tapia and Lima struggled.

In the tenth game, with a serve to level on the scoreboard, Agus and Pablo could not hold serve. That meant that Javi and Juan Cruz took the set 6-4, and with it, that coveted semifinal berth.
