Four years ago, Maxi Sánchez and Sanyo Gutiérrez last completed a season on the World Padel Tour. The duo from San Luis ended the campaign in third place in the rankings. A year in which they won the title in Malaga after defeating Pablo Lima and Juan Mieres in the final and they also claimed the Master Final with a triumph over Fernando Belasteguín and Juan Martín Díaz. They ended the year on 4000 points as they reached four finals (Cordoba, Lisbon, San Fernando and Seville). Four years later, they joined forces to prove that what they say about second parts never being good is just a load of rubbish.

The 2018 version
This second version of Maxi Sánchez and Sanyo Gutiérrez has improved substantially on that 2014 season and we're only halfway through the year. After eight tournaments played, Maxi and Sanyo have won four titles, 1 Master and 3 Opens. They're on 6680 points, which is almost 3000 more than last time around. With more experience and an evolved game, the current number 2 pairing are performing a real assault on the number 1 ranking. A fascinating battle which will take place in the second half of the season on the World Padel Tour. Will this 2.0 version of Sanyo and Maxi claim the crown? The answer is soon to come...
