Sanyo and Bela bow out in defeat

There was to be no happy ending for Sanyo Gutierrez and Fernando Belasteguín who went out in the quarterfinals of their final tournament together at the Lugo Open in Friday.

Up against Spaniards Momo Gonzalez and Javi Rico, the Argentine pairing who announced this week they would be calling it a day as a pairing after this tournament, went down in a third set tie-break to a partnership who ran and fought for every point.
The first set went 6-3 to Gonzalez and Rico who got into their stride quicker than their more experienced opponents. But the fightback was on when the Argentines took the second 6-4.
Sanyo and Bela served for the match in the third set at 5-4 but were broken back at a crucial stage of the contest.
And after almost two and half hours the pair who reached their second semi of the season just two weeks ago in Sardinia made sure of a third, by taking the last five points of the decisive tie-break to win it comfortably 7-3.
