Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay have made their third consecutive final after coming back to beat Mapi and Majo Sánchez Alayeto in the Vigo Open 2022 semi-finals on Saturday.

The number ones have yet to lose in the new season, with the Atomic Twins the last pair to beat them back at the Estrella Damm Master Final 2021.

A packed IFEVI witnessed one of the great women's games of the tournament on Saturday afternoon, all four players operating at an incredibly high level.

Mapi and Majo took the first set after their initial break was counterbroken, but they mustered another one later. It finished 4-6.

Triay and Salazar hit back with a 6-1 in the second set, and followed it up with 6-3 in the third to seal their fate.

For the third time in as many tournaments, Salazar and Triay face Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría in the women's final on Sunday.
