The stands were full and the fans were eager to watch the mouth-watering clash between the number 1 and 3 ranked pairings on the WPT: Mapi and Majo Sánchez Alayeto against Marta Marrero and Alejandra Salazar.Both pairings have dominated the tournament all week and wanted to extend their trophy cabinet. In their fifth final of the year, Ale and Marta were looking for their third title. The twins had their sixth title in their sights in their tenth final. Alejandra Salazar took control in front of her home crowd. Supported by Marrero's execution, they gave Mapi and Majo no chance and broke first in the third game. They closed out the set at 6-2.In the second set, Jorge Martinez's came on leaps and bounds and that helped them to level out the match. No one managed to open up an advantage but Mapi and Majo were finding ways to hurt their opponents. A formula that eluded them in the first set, and they broke right at the death to win 6-4.The third set was an all-out battle. Rallies became longer and longer and no one wanted to give anything away. Marrero and Salazar grabbed a key break in the third game, but they were broken back in the next game after Mapi and Majo converted one of six opportunities.
