Veterans Lucía Sainz and Marta Marrero have won the Mallorca Challenger on Sunday, beating Jessica Castelló and French Alix Collombon after three sets.
It is Sainz and Marrero's first title since coming together in Menorca last season. For both former number ones, it is also their first tournament won since 2020.
The two Spaniards lost the opening set to Collombon and Castelló, who won a Challenger in 2021 already.
Able to recover, Marrero and Sainz struck back with a double 6-1 to emerge victorious from the week of padel in Mallorca at the Rafa Nadal Academy.
