Sainz and Araújo to finish 2022 season together

Portuguese Sofia Araújo and former number one Lucía Sainz have announced they will finish the 2022 season together.

Araújo and Marta Talaván have ended their fruitful partnership, which featured multiple quarter-final appearances.

After splitting with Marta Marrero, Sainz played the Estrella Damm Menorca Open with Tamara Icardo while both players looked for new counterparts.

They will start competing together at the Malmö Padel Open in November and continue at the Mexico Open two weeks later.

Depending on ranking in The Race 2022, they could finish the season together at the Estrella Damm Master Final in December. Currently, Sainz would qualify in 11th, but Araújo is on the outside in 19th position.

Talaván and Icardo will also finish the season together, becoming the tenth-ranked pair for the upcoming tournaments.
