Ruiz and Botello don't let their second final slip away: Champions of the Lisboa Challenger

The Lisboa Challenger 2018 came to an end with the final taking place at the Centro de Tenis Monsanto. After week of intense padel in the Portuguese capital, two pairings had stamped their authority to reach the final: Uri Botello - Javier Ruiz and Diego Ramos Rafael MéndezBoth pairings were looking for their first title and were cagey at the beginning, as they both lost their serve on multiple occasions. The first pairing that made the most of that tense start was Botello and Ruiz, who led 4-1. Mendez and Ramos had a chance to break back in the seventh game but they couldn't finish the job and Botello-Ruiz ultimately claimed the set at 6-3. Not much changed in the second set, with both duos attempting to break the other. Mendez and Ramos tried to alter the tempo but Botello and Ruiz had a response for all of their attacks. Botello was a wall in defence but was also causing damage in attack and he and Ruiz had the chance to win the match at 5-4 on serve. They didn't seal the deal then but they did a couple of games later as they won 7-5 in just an hour and 38 minutes. After losing the final of the Madrid Challenger, Botello and Ruiz have proved that they're in stunning form as they lift their first title together.

Botello and Ruiz are the champions of the Lisboa Challenger 2018
