Friday's Telcel Huawei Mexico Open 2022 quarter-finals saw four-seed Virginia Riera and Patricia Llaguno end the hopes of Delfi Brea to make the Estrella Damm Barcelona Master Final as the 22-year-old was knocked out in straight sets.
Brea needed a win on Friday to qualify, with Mapi and Majo Sanchez Alayeto losing earlier in the day, but she and Marta Marrero could not make enough of a fist against Riera and Llaguno.
