Ruiz and Rico had displayed some brilliant padel to make it here but Diaz and Navarro had them at their mercy in the first set. Their huge hitting penetrated Rico and Ruiz's defence and they won the set 6-3 in just 43 minutes. On the second set, Victor Ruiz and Josete Rico tried to rekindle what had got them this far but Ruiz's shots weren't causing as much damage as expected and Rico's defence wasn't holding up as well. After the first six games, Diaz and Navarro were 4-2 up. They broke again in the seventh game and were within inches of leaving the bitter taste of Badalona behind them. Jose Rico received the support of his local crowd but it only helped him and his partner to get one break back as they lost 6-4 in an hour and 15 minutes.
