Pre-qualifiying concludes in Valencia with Goenaga/Bautista on top

The men's Estrella Damm Valencia Open 2022 pre-qualifying stages finished over the weekend as eight pairs have kept their main draw dream alive.

In the ninth Open of the season, new rulings were enforced as every match now has a designated umpire and all matches have live scoring online.

Enrique Goenaga and Jairo Bautista started off with victory in the third pre-qualifying round, beating Daniel Bressel and Pedro Araújo in straight sets 6-3 6-2.

Fede Mouriño and Facundo Domínguez also punched their ticket to qualifying in straight sets, beating Diego Gil and Álvaro Meléndez via a double 6-4.

Both Roger Aromi and Ferran Insa as well as Alonso Rodríguez and Borja Yribarren found a way through in their respective matches too, meaning they will keep fighting in qualifying.

Next were Pepe Aliaga and Francisco Guerrero, who were victorious in their encounter with Mario Ortega and Matías Nicoletti as they won 6-3 2-6 6-1.

The same went for Pedro Vera and Aitor García, who beat Marqués and Chamero 6-4 7-6 to go through.
