Perfect Paquito Navarro claims Cordoba Open MVP

After claiming victory on home soil, Andalusian former number one Paquito Navarro has been named Cervezas Victoria Cordoba Open MVP.

Navarro won his second tournament of the year alongside Martín Di Nenno, the pair now reaching five straight finals from the Sardegna Open onwards.

While unlikely, Navarro and Di Nenno could still finish 2021 as the number ones, trailing Alejandro Galán and Juan Lebrón 2.105 points in The Race 2021 with 3.700 points still in play.

Navarro and Di Nenno hit 25 winners in the two sets it took to beat Alejandro Ruiz and Franco Stupaczuk, with Navarro claiming most of them.

While Di Nenno did a lot of the heavy lifting to keep rallies alive, it was the decisiveness and quality of Navarro that stood out.

Because of the 20-time tournament winner, Ruiz and Stupa were dispatched in two sets, 6-3 6-3. This game them revenge for the Sardinia Open final, when it was Ruiz and Stupa who emerged victorious to claim their first, and thus far only, win of the season.

Without further ado, enjoy the best moments from the Cordoba Open MVP, Paquito Navarro!

Already part of the number one pair in 2019 with current number one Lebrón, Navarro will give it his everything in the remaining tournaments to reclaim the top spot.

The question is whether he and Di Nenno have left it too late, or if they can still catch Galán and Lebrón.
