There is no doubt. Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebrón have formed the best couple of 2019. They have made history in a year in which they would for the first time in their careers occupy the throne of the world padel. The number 1 closed a dream season with a total of five titles in their medal list and giving away endless unforgettable moments that have already entered the golden book of World Padel Tour.
They started the season in Marbella leaving a clear message: they were willing to unseat Maxi Sánchez and Sanyo Gutiérrez. Even so, they failed to beat them in the final of that tournament, as happened in Logroño. But in Alicante they 'premiered' their season with the first of their five titles, and cut distances in the champions race. Unstoppable continued during that first section of the course, when they would win up to three more trophies (Jaén, Valladolid and Bastad).
Then they were going to face their worst moment as a couple and during the next five tournaments, they would not be able to reach even the final. A situation to which they were not accustomed, and that in Córdoba they savored again. Although they did not take the title in the Califal City, they showed a much more recognizable version in the Andalusian duo, which reached the American tour at that point of the course at their best level. With the title in Sao Paulo, Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebrón secured the number 1 World Padel Tour, becoming the first Spanish couple to achieve it. A feat that has served them well to be recognized as the Best Couple of 2019.
