The world number two pairing Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutiérrez took on the restrengthened Seba Nerone and Álex Ruiz, who were in the quarter finals for the first time in 2017 after beating Lahoz and Lijo in three hours. The first set was very even. Nerone and Ruiz played at a very high level and helf on despite Paquito and Sanyo's continuous attacks.
