The Barcelona City Council hosted the event’s presentation, at which Jaume Collboni, David Escudé, Ramón Agenjo and Alex Corretja were present along with Agustín Tapia and Alix Collombon. Ramón Agenjo stated that in 2024 there will be a minimum of 20 World Padel Tour events with a significant improvement in prize money in both the men's and the women's Circuits.Barcelona, July 26th, 2022.The 16 best pairs of the season will compete for the title of Masters between December 15 and 18 in Barcelona.The presentation ceremony of the event took place at the City Hall of Barcelona and was attended by both representatives of the City Council and WPT.Jaume Collboni, Deputy Mayor of the Barcelona City Council, expressed his appreciation for World Padel Tour's commitment to equality in a sport as popular as padel: "We must celebrate the fact that World Padel Tour is taking the city's name around the world. Major sporting events are part of the city's DNA. We can't pass up the opportunity to link ourselves to padel, a sport with a great future". Ramón Agenjo, apart from revealing that 2024 will have a minimum of 20 events and that prize money in both Circuits will be significantly increased, underlined: "For WPT, parity and equality are non-negotiable values". He added: "In Barcelona we will have the best tournament in the history of padel and we hope to beat the record of 2019 with almost 10,000 people in attendance".The presentation of the final event of the year was Alex Corretja's first institutional appearance as Advisor of the World Padel Tour President. Corretja was keen to take the opportunity to say: "We are working on a new World Padel Tour, an ambitious and exciting project with a medium- and long-term horizon that I hope to achieve over the next five years".
