Overview: The action-packed second half of the 2022 World Padel Tour season!

We are halfway through the summer break of the 2022 World Padel Tour season, and the most international season in padel history continues in September.

After a well-deserved rest in August, seven Opens, three Masters and two Challengers are still to be disputed before the Challenger Final and Master Final in December.

Here are some of the events to look forward to for the rest of 2022!

Dutch debut - Amsterdam Padel Open

From September 26th-October 2nd, the beautiful city of Amsterdam will have the honour of hosting the first-ever World Padel Tour event on Dutch soil.

The Amsterdam Padel Open will be disputed right in the heart of the historic city centre at the Centrale Markthal, with several thousand Dutch fans packing the stands.

The Netherlands are the 16th different country to host an official ranked WPT event and the fifth different nation to host its first tournament in 2022.

Double Swedish serving - Stockholm & Malmö Padel Open

Sweden has quickly become one of the biggest padel markets in the world, the sport rapidly growing in the Scandinavian country.

For the first time, Sweden will host two different tournaments in the same season - only Spain and Argentina have done it previously.

From September 11-18, the Avicii Arena will host the Swedish Padel Open. The nation's capital Stockholm will host WPT for the first time after Båstad and Malmö have done it in the past.

Additionally, on 7-13 November, WPT will return to Malmö for the Malmö Padel Open. 2021's edition of the event featured the third-largest live crowd ever and the largest crowd outside of Spain at over 6.500.

Tour through the Americas - Buenos Aires & Mexico

The end of the 2022 'regular' season (before the Challenger Final and Master Final) will see WPT once again going to the Americas.

First, the Buenos Aires Padel Master, held between 14-20 November. From Argentina we go to Mexico the week after.

The Mexico Open will be celebrated between 21-27 November in the nation's capital Mexico City!

Two Finals! - Challenger Final & Master Final

Besides the 'normal' Estrella Damm Master Final, which is celebrated between 15-18 December, there is an addition to the format in 2022 - the Challenger Final.

Much like the Master Final, the Challenger Final invites the best male and female players based on results at the five Challenger events in 2022. They will duke it out in a tournament, held in Cordoba in 2022, to see who will lift the crown.
