Three-seed Marta Ortega and Bea González have won the Amsterdam Open 2022 after beating number one pairing Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez in three sets; 6-4 2-6 6-1.
It is Ortega and González's second title this season after already winning the Danish Padel Open. Josemaría and Sánchez had not lost since the Valencia Open in July, winning 20 matches on the bounce before Sunday at the Centrale Markthal.
Ortega and González consolidate their third place in the rankings with Sunday's victory. While Josemaría and Sánchez as well as Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay are still a long way up the road, there is no doubt Bea and Martita are in some of their best-ever form.
