Navarro and Di Nenno crowned Buenos Aires Master champions after dominant display

Number two-ranked pair Martín Di Nenno and Paquito Navarro have been crowned Buenos Aires Master champions at La Rural in a final featuring three Argentinians, beating three-seeded Sanyo Gutiérrez and Agustín Tapia in straight sets.

Sunday's game was a rematch of the Malmö Padel Open final, which was won in two sets by Gutiérrez and Tapia 7-5, 6-0.

This final on Argentinian soil saw Navarro and Di Nenno looking to take control of the match straight away. At 2-2, the first gold point went the number twos' way, giving them a break's advantage. They saw out the first set 6-4 as Gutiérrez and Tapia could not muster a break.

The second frame saw Gutiérrez and Tapia trying to regain control, but failing to break service. After Tapia injured his right shoulder but carried on, the youngest player on the court was not playing at his highest level anymore.

This led to Navarro and Di Nenno again breaking at 2-2, as they had done in the first set. This time, however, they kept their foot on the gas and broke once again at 4-2. Serving for the match, they made no mistake, and got their revenge for the final in Malmö to win their third tournament in 2021 in their seventh consecutive final, also keeping their dream of becoming number ones alive.

Congratulations to Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno, your Buenos Aires Master champions of 2021!
