Navarro and Di Nenno give Allemandi and Nieto rude awakening in search of Malmö Padel Open glory

The last of Saturday’s four Malmö Padel Open semi-finals saw numbers two Paquito Navarro and Martín Di Nenno face underdogs Tito Allemandi and Coki Nieto.

The 11th seeded pair, Allemandi and Nieto had not made a semi-final before in 2021. They started off with intensity, matching their opponents, but quickly ran out of gas.

Pouncing on their pray, Di Nenno and Navarro took their chance to break twice and run away with the set 6-2.

Rodri Ovide’s pair applied the same pressure from the start in the second set, and Allemandi and Nieto could not cope.

Despite knocking out the four-seed and seven-seed on their way to the semi-finals, they looked out of their depth as they were again beaten 6-2.

Di Nenno and Navarro now have a chance to win consecutive tournaments and keep their dream of number one status alive.
