Veteran Miguel Lamperti and young Spaniard Jon Sanz have announced a new partnership for the 2022 World Padel Tour campaign.

A combination of veteran leadership and youthful exuberance, the Argentinian and Spaniard announced their coming together on their respective social media channels during the winter break.

Sanz is another product of the Spanish youth, along with the likes of Miguel Yanguas and Arturo Coello, who is tipped to be a potential star in the future.

Just like Yanguas and Coello did in 2021, Sanz will now share the 20x10 court with Lamperti, who has been a professional padel player for the better part of two decades.

Lamperti and Sanz' 2021

Lamperti started the 2021 season with teenager Arturo Coello and the pair was in red-hot form straightaway. Making consecutive semi-final appearances in Madrid and Alicante, they looked destined for great things, but they would fail to reach the same heights until their split in September.

Miguel Yanguas would be Lamperti's new partner. The duo dubbed itself Los Mikes for their shared first name and would make one big splash in Mexico. At the CDMX Open, they reached the semi-finals to cap off a solid season, although Lamperti would miss out on the Estrella Damm Master Final, where he normally is a fixture.

Sanz shared 2021 with another Argentinian veteran in Agustín Silingo. The tandem never got as deep as the semi-finals at any Open, but did make three quarter-finals. The last of which was in Mexico, where they were eliminated by Lamperti and Yanguas.

At 43 years of age, Miguel Lamperti still has plenty of padel left in the tank. Can he take Jon Sanz to the same heights as he did with Coello and Yanguas last season?
