The grand finale of the women's Vallbanc Andorra La Vella Open 2018 was the second final of the season between Mapi - Majo Sánchez Alayeto and Alejandra Salazar - Marta Marrero.
In their first final of the season, in Alicante, Salazar and Marrero came out on top but the Alayetos were looking for their third crown on the bounce. An early break by Jorge Martinez's pupils was cancelled out by Ale and Marta and the set headed into a tiebreak, whic went to the sisters from Zaragoza. 7-6 to Mapi and Majo.
The second set started in the same way as the first one, with Mapi and Majo breaking to lead 2-0 and Ale and Marta responding to make it 2-2. And also like the first set it would be tight right until the end. The twins had 3 match points on return at 6-5 but didn't take them and Salazar and Marrero made the most of the lifeline handed to them to force a third set. 7-6 to Salazar and Marrero.
The final set was all you could ask for in a final. Marrero and Salazar went 3-1 up to lead for the first time in the match. But that's when the number ones started working to perfection and broke twice consecutively to lead 5-4. They served it out and won 6-4. Mapi and Majo Sanchez Alayeto conquered their fourth tournament of the season, their third on the bounce. Mapi and Majo are the champions of the Vallbanc Andorra La Vella Open 2018.
