Malaga Open quarter-finals: Injury puts twins through, 2021 final rematch!

The Cervezas Victoria Malaga Open 2022 quarter-finals featured all top eight seeds, although Marta Marrero could not start her match because of an illness.

Malaga's very own Bea González looked to make the semi-finals in her home town, while Delfi Brea and Tamara Icardo looked for revenge from two weeks ago in the Valencia final against the reigning number ones.

Check out what happened in the three matches that were contested at the Martín Carpena in the videos below!

Josemaría/Sánchez (2) vs Osoro/Iglesias (7)

On court 2, number two seed Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez played the only match disputed there against Aranza Osoro and Victoria Iglesias.

Salazar/Triay (1) vs Brea/Icardo (5)

A rematch of the 2021 Malaga Open final and of the Valencia Open final two weeks ago, number ones Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay were in action against Delfi Brea and Tamara Icardo.

Ortega/González (3) vs Riera/Llaguno (6)

Finally, three-seed Marta Ortega and local player Bea González stepped onto the Martín Carpena centre court, doing so against Virginia Riera and Patricia Llaguno.
