Two-seed Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez have beaten reigning number ones Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay in straight sets on Sunday to lift the Cervezas Victoria Malaga Open 2022 title.

It is the fourth title of the season and the tenth overall for Sánchez and Josemaría, who head into the summer break with a spring in their step.

The number one and number two pairings have met in eight finals already in 2022, which is more than any other finals match-up in women's WPT history for a single season.
