Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima took on Francisco "Chico"Gomes and Federico Quiles. The duo coached by Miguel Sciorilli came out all guns blazing and won the first set 6-2 in an hour. The match got much tighter in the second set. The number ones held onto their serve and looked for a chance to break and take an advantage. But that chance never came and the set headed into a tiebreak, where Gomes and Quiles stunned the number ones to win 7-6. Some doubts started to creep into Bela and Lima's game and Gomez/Quiles stormed away to take the first three games. They held on to pull off a massive upset, winning 6-3 and dumping out the number one seeds.Gutiérrez/Stupaczuk vs Company/RiveraThe number four seeds, Cristian Gutierrez and Franco Stupaczuk got their first taste of action in Valladolid against Gerard Company and Rubén Rivera, who had come through a tough qualifying process and opening round.
