Hometown hero Triay crowned Menorca Open MVP

Gemma Triay has been named Estrella Damm Menorca Open MVP after taking her fourth straight tournament win alongside Alejandra Salazar on Sunday.

Nothing seems to be able to stop the one-two punch of Triay and Salazar at the moment. After triumphing in Triay's native Menorca, they now have seven tournament wins under their belts this season alone. It alots them 1000 more points in the ranking, steering both Spaniards even more clear in the 2021 Race.

Born in Alaior on the island Menorca, Triay already won the 2020 Master Final on home ground with her then-partner Lucía Sainz.

Now, in the first year of  her partnership with Salazar, Triay looks to have found her groove. The duo is 16 games unbeaten, looking to extend their streak next week in Cordoba.

Menorca Open MVP

Dominant at the net, a hard-hitter and a clever, effective player, Triay has all the tools needed to dominate the World Padel Tour. And it does not hurt when your partner has won over 250 games and has an 81% career win ratio like Salazar.

Dropping only two sets in the whole tournament - a tie-break in the semi-final and the first set in the final - Triay was largely to thank for the success of her pairing on Menorca.

It should be no surprise then the world number one player was crowned Estrella Damm Menorca Open MVP.

Here are some of Triay's best moments from the Menorca Open. Enjoy!

Can Triay and Salazar finish the season in style and win the Madrid Master Final in December? Or can anyone stop them?
