González and Ortega win second Challenger title on the spin after comeback in Albacete final

Bea González and Marta Ortega have conquered their second title of the 2022 season already as the young Spanish duo have won the Tau Cerámica Albacete Challenger 2022 after an epic three-set final.

González and Ortega have now won both Challenger events of 2022, further cementing themselves as one of the best pairings around in the women's Circuit.

Facing the most successful partnership in women's World Padel Tour history Mapi and Majo Sánchez Alayeto, González and Ortega came back from a set down to lift the title at the Pabellón Universitario de Albacete.

The Atomic Twins played with their typical aggression to start the match out. While Ortega and González like to play the same way, they were less effective in doing so, and the Sánchez Alayeto sisters were soon up 4-2, finishing the set 3-6.

Mapi and Majo are without a title since 2020, and while they got close, the second set would go their opponents' way. Marta and Bea this time took a 4-2 lead to grab a 6-3 of their own and force a decider.

The younger pairing took this momentum into the third and final set, where they broke twice to go 4-0 up straightaway. Mapi and Majo could not repair the damage or stop the bleeding, and this match finished 3-6 6-3 6-1 to González and Ortega.
