The Andalusians struck first by breaking the Estrella Damm Catalunya Master champions. They went on to take a 3-0 lead and Triay and Sainz switched things up to try and break back but found no luck. With the score at 5-4 and Iglesias/Navarro serving for the set, despite their opponents's best efforts, they held on to win 6-4.The tension was in the air as the second set commenced. Both pairings held onto their serves in the early exchanges and the first break came in the ninth game, when Triay and Sainz tore through Iglesias/Navarro's defence and won the set 6-4.The last set was a physical and psychological one and it was the number two seeds who dealt with it better. They broke in the fifth game and flew through to win 6-2 and reach the semifinals after a tough battle.
