The Keler Bilbao Open 2017 was ready for a fascinating day of quarter final action. For the first time in the tournament, the women's draw took place at Frontón Vizcaya. Entering the scene were Gemma Triay - Lucía Sainz and Teresa Navarro - Victoria Iglesias. The three first games helped all four players adapt to their new surroundings. The first break came in the fifth game, and it was Gemma and Lucia who claimed it, but their advantage disappeared in the following game. In the ninth game, Lucia Sainz's determination was key in grabbing another break which they conserved until 6-4. Triay was suffering from a wrist injury but that didn't hamper her game and Lucia stepped up to aid her partner. The second set was almost a carbon copy of the first. Iglesias and Navarro showed a spirited reaction to win the first three games but their opponents reacted and won 6-4 in an hour and a half.
