The Swedish Padel Open got underway far away from the Scandinavian country, with the first rounds of qualifying played at the Reebook Sports Club La Finca.The first pairing that will be heading north is Aris Patiniotis and Jordi Muñoz who have got off to a brilliant start as a pairing together. They won their final round encounter against David García Campos and Javier Pérez Morillas 7-5 / 6-3. In the second match, another newly formed pairing such as Ernesto Moreno - Gonzalo Rubio took on Gerard Company - Rubén Rivera. The Andalusian pairing proved that their recent semifinals at the Lisboa Challenger were no fluke and they got through with a 6-7 / 7-6 / 6-3 victory.Raúl Marcos and Raúl Díaz also overcame the qualifying draw with a hard-fought 6-4 / 7-6 win against Borja Yribarren and Javier Escalante.The last place in the Swedish Padel Open 2018 would go to the winner of Victor Ruiz - José Rico vs Javier Rico - Jorge Nieto, in a clash between two brothers. It was the third time that the Rico brothers took each other on this season already. With one win apiece, this time it was Victor Ruiz and Jose Rico who prevailed 7-6 / 7-6.The Swedish Padel Open will take place from the 23rd to the 29th of July.
