The World Padel Tour is gearing up for one of the most special tournaments of the year: the Buenos Aires Padel Master 2018 from the 5th to the 11th of November. The best padel in the world returns to a country that sees this as more than a mere sporting event. Here are five reasons to not miss the Buenos Aires Padel Master 2018:
The last Master of the season
In this final stretch of the World Padel Tour, the Buenos Aires Padel Master will be the last tournament of this category. More points are handed out in this Master than at the Estrella Damm Master Final, with 1700 points for the winner. It will also be the final time that the top four seeds have to start in the round of 32. A lot is at stake at the final tournament of the regular season.
Leading the rankings
For the first time in their careers, Maxi Sánchez (number 1) and Sanyo Gutiérrez (number 2) head into the Argentinian capital on top of the World Padel Tour rankings. The duo from San Luis want to confirm this ranking come the end of the season on home soil and put an end to Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima's run which dates back from 2015.
Fight for the Master Final
With so many points at stake, the penultimate tournament of the year on the calendar will also be crucial to determine the 16 players that take participate at the Estrella Damm Master Final from the 13th to the 16th of December. With just two tournaments left (Buenos Aires and Murcia) there are two places still up for grabs. They currently belong to Uri Botello and Javi Ruiz (3560 points each). But they can't take their foot off the pedal, as Luciano Capra and Ramiro Moyano are on 2910 and 2715 respectively. Botello and Ruiz are defending 35o points from their quarter finals in 2017, while Capra and Moyano only have to defend 70 and 150 respectively.
Registration for this tournament took place a long time ago so some pairings that have now split up will compete together again. It will be a last chance to see Paquito Navarro and Juan Martín Díaz together after having reached three finals together. Juan Cruz Belluati and Juan Lebrón will also be together again in La Rural. These are just two of many pairings that will give it another go together in Argentina.
For the third season in a row, the Buenos Aires Padel Master 2018 will take place at the emblematic Predio de La Sociedad Rural Argentina. The venue, commonly known as La Rural, is located in the heart of the Palermo neighbourhood and is one of world padel's cathedrals. A unique setting which the best fans in the world transform into a magical expereince. Colour, passion and excitement all blend together both on and off the court. The entire country gets behind this tournament, making the World Padel Tour's visit to La Rural one of the moments of the year.
