However, the two were knocked out in the first round - the quarter-final stage.This is the first big off-season move in terms of new partnerships, with many more likely to come in both the men's and women's Circuits.Lima and Sánchez in 2021The Brazilian Lima started 2021 alongside Agustín Tapia but switched to Javi Ruiz after the Lugo Open. He won back-to-back tournaments with Tapia in Las Rozas and Málaga and made one more final at the Marbella Master.With the Spaniard Ruiz, Lima never advanced past the quarter-final stage in their five events together. The second-most winningest player in World Padel Tour history was then forced to play the Estrella Damm Master Final 2021 with debutant Momo González as Ruiz did not have sufficient points to qualify. For two of those eight to partner up says a lot about the potential of this South American tandem.Alongside El Boss Fernando Belasteguín, Lima was number one for three consecutive years in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The year after, it was none other than Maxi Sánchez and then-partner Sanyo Gutiérrez who took the crown from Bela and Lima.
