The first-ever Open in France, the Human French Padel Open 2022, has officially kicked off as pre-qualifying concluded on Monday at the Club4Padel in Toulouse.
Eight pairs would join the other players already in qualifying, with pre-qualifying taking place across all of the weekend.
Nothing Toulouse
First to go through to the qualifying stages were Pablo García and Jairo Bautista, who took on Pablo Cuesta and Rodrigo Coello - Arturo's younger brother. García and Bautista would end up winning 6-4 7-6.
Next to punch their ticket to qualifying were Alonso Rodríguez and Borja Yribarren, who dispatched Belar Vera and Afonso Fazendeiro by 7-5 6-2 to go through.
Adrián Ronco and Mario Huete's debut together went swimmingly, coming out of pre-qualifying by winning 6-4 6-0 against Diego Gil and Álvaro Meléndez.
Pepe Aliaga and Francisco Guerrero too made it out of pre-qualifying, beating Pablo González and Cándido Alfaro by 0-6 6-4 7-5 after a long battle.
Spaniards Pedro Vera and Aitor García beat their fellow countrymen Iago González and Manuel Prado with a convincing 6-2 6-4, and David Antolín/Adrián Rodríguez would too go through, beating Francisco Gomes and Ignacio Piotto 6-7 6-4 6-4.
The two final matches saw Pablo Cardona and Miguel Benítez beat Ferran Insa and Guillermo Closa with a convincing 6-2 6-3, and Nicolás Suescun and Emilio Chamero beat Javi Navarro and British number one Christian Medina via a double 6-4.
