Colourful Mexico lights up for final World Padel Tour Open of 2021

The professional padel Circuit has returned to Mexico for the final World Padel Tour Open of 2021, the CDMX Open.

With everything still to play for this season, the event's presentation took place at one of Mexico City's most picturesque places, Xochimilco.

These famous channels are what remains of a big, ancient network of rivers and canals used by the Aztecs for transportation. It is found in the south of Mexico City.

The so-called trajineras, the colourful gondola-like boats, take tourists for rides around the area and the islands scattered throughout. These sell souvenirs, local foods and have mariachis.

Former number one Sanyo Gutiérrez was on hand at the CDMX Open presentation, ushering in the second World Padel Tour event on Mexican soil.

Gutiérrez arrives at the CDMX Open having just won the Malmö Padel Open and reaching the final of the Buenos Aires Padel Master with his new partner Agustín Tapia.

Besides being happy to be at such a beautifully set presentation, Gutiérrez will fondly remember his legendary point in 2019, considered by many as the best shot in padel history. With Tapia, he will fight for more silverware as the number three-seeded pair are in excellent form of late.

The stage is set then for another incredible week of World Padel Tour in the country where the sport was once invented. With number one status still up for grabs and Master Final tickets still to be decided, there is no reason to miss what should be an amazing tournament!
