Cepero and Alba to collaborate for 2022 season

Spaniards Álvaro Cepero and Sergio Alba will embark on a new chapter together for the 2022 World Padel Tour season.

They will fight to qualify for the curtain-raiser in the United States, the Blockchain.com Miami Padel Open 2022, on the weekend of 11-13 February.

Álvaro Cepero

A drive from Spain, 2022 will be Cepero's eighth World Padel Tour season. Playing with Rafael Méndez last season, Cepero made 15 Open and Master final draw appearances. Seven of the 15 times, the pair advanced to the round of 16, but never advanced past that stage.

Cepero will hope to get deeper into tournaments this season alongside Alba. This starts by qualifying for Miami this weekend in the qualifiers.

Sergio Alba

Currently 38th in the WPT rankings, Sergio Alba also never made it past the round of 16 of an Open or Master. Unlike Cepero, however, Alba did make a Challenger semi-finals appearance in Lerma.

Together with Miguel Semmler, the two had a solid season. An explosive backhand, Alba should provide the spark to add to Cepero's game management in the drive position.
