Caparros/Traviesa have successful debut in women's Human French Padel Open pre-qualifying

World Padel Tour travels to France for the Human French Padel Open 2022, the first-ever Open held in France after already hosting a Challenger event in the past.

Women's pre-qualifying concluded on Monday, with eight pairings getting a ticket into the qualifying rounds for the main draw.

Here is what happened in the second round of pre-qualifying!

Dominance in Toulouse

The first couple to get their ticket to the qualifying rounds was the newly-formed one of Nicole Traviesa and Marta Caparrós, who beat Neus Garau and Clara Miret with a dominant 6-0 6-2.

Next were Carmen García and Belgian Helena Wyckaert, who sealed their passage to qualifying after beating Patricia Ribeiro and Letizia Manquillo via a double 6-3.

The Spanish-Portuguese tandem of Cristina González and Margarida Fernandes also made it through, beating the three-seed Alba Galán and Alicia Alegre with a convincing 6-3 6-1.

Marta Borrero and her new partner Alejandra Alonso could not finish their match against Ana María Cabrejas and Baharak Soleymain. At 6-0 3-1 to Borrero and Alonso, the match was abandoned through injury.

Madrileans Agueda Pérez and Amanda López played French wild cards Lucile Pothier and Jessica Ginier in the final, winning 6-1 6-4 in straight sets, while Swede Amanda Girdo and veteran Nelida Brito also went through via a double 6-3 against Carla Mocete and Aida Martínez.

Eight-seed Lucía Pérez and Lorena Vano swept Bruna Albuquerque and Rocio Cardo with a double 6-0.

Finally, Patricia Martínez and Sandra Hernández would go through to the qualifying rounds after beating Pilar Albarran and Rocio Albarran in three sets.

The match finished 6-2 4-6 6-3, putting Martínez and Hernández through.
